(Lakewood, Colo. – June 8, 2015) Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) announced today that Patrick J. Klein has accepted the position of IT Director for the Library, effective June 17.
“Technology is increasingly critical to our ability to provide secure, efficient and effective library services while ensuring that Jefferson County residents have equal access to information and opportunity,” said Pam Nissler, executive director, JCPL. “We believe Patrick’s extensive experience in strategic planning, budgeting and leadership — coupled with sound skills in technology development, implementation and management — will enable us to optimize current and emerging technologies to better serve our patrons and communities.”
Klein comes to JCPL from the City and County of Denver, where he directed network and telecommunication operations as well as server, storage and data center teams for the city. Prior to that, Klein held leadership technology positions with Denver’s departments of aviation and safety.
“The Library presents me with an exciting career opportunity,” Klein noted. “Previously, my experience has been devoted to ensuring effective technology infrastructure, solutions and processes to support business objectives. I’m really excited to take on the additional challenge of making technology available and accessible to the residents of Jefferson County,” he concluded.
Klein holds a bachelor-of-arts degree in business management from St Martin’s College and a Version 3 Foundations certification from the Information Technology Infrastructure Library.
